We follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information which you have given us to prevent unauthorised access.

This Privacy Notice tells you what to expect us to do with your personal information when you contact us or enter into an agreement with us and what we do with information taken from publicly available sources.

What information we collect

Referrals may be received via email from various lead generators for example Zoom info. Our Sales staff may create leads from LinkedIn, Bloomberg, the financial press, Google, etc. We may also receive a direct approach from individuals who contact Pantheon Macroeconomics via telephone, email, or a website enquiry. In all these cases we collect the following initial information:

  • personal information such as your name and contact details (corporate email address, business telephone number, job title, company name)
  • other personal identifiers such as IP addresses you use to access our website along with your usage details and password for our website.

When you enter into a contract/agreement with us we may collect further personal information from you. The type of additional information we may collect is:

  • The areas of our work which interest you
  • Details of communications between us such as emails and phone calls
  • For suppliers, we may also store contacts details, bank details and previous invoicing information.

If you download our app and login as a client or as part of your trial, to use our push notifications, we collect;

  • The Device token/s, which is a unique key for the app-device combination issued by Apple or Google.
  • The notification preference selected within the app.

We do not collect sensitive information such as health details or any payment information.

We may use the information we collect to occasionally notify you about important functionality changes to our website, any new products, services, and special events that we think you will find relevant. 

If you would rather not receive this information, details of how to remove yourself from our subscription system will be contained in the emails that you receive from us.

Why do we process your information?

If you have not entered into an agreement for service provisions with us, our lawful basis for processing your data is Legitimate Interest. This is where we have identified a genuine and legitimate reason for processing your data, which does not override your rights or interests. We process personal data in order to find and contact businesses who we believe have a commercial interest in reading our economics research, to allow us to deliver our services to our customers and to make them aware of new products as they become available. We also retain the minimum information necessary to make sure that we do not contact anyone who has told us that they do not want to hear from us.

Once you have entered into an agreement with us, the lawful basis for us to continue to process your data will be in the fulfilment of a contract. For example, we will need to process your data in order to:

  • Respond to an enquiry about out services received via our website or by email or telephone
  • Fulfil an agreement with us for any service provision
  • Enable us to support our customer obligations and service requirements
  • Notify you of any enhancements or updates to the services we provide to you
  • Use analytics to understand how users are using the app and which areas of our publications are of most interest to them, in order to better understand and meet their needs.

What about Cookies and Automated Logging?

When you enter our website, we may use your internet protocol (“IP”) address to monitor broad demographic information and for other purposes, such as monitoring visitor frequency. With your permission, we will install “cookies” on your computer which allow us to tailor your experience of our website. Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. You will be offered information on our cookie policy before they are used and you can see our cookie policy here.

How do we protect your information

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect. We regularly review our security measures to ensure that they are up to date and appropriate. Staff undergo regular training on data protection and cyber security risks. We have ensured that and third parties with access to your data (see above) meet the same high standards of data security.

Who we share your data with

We may use third party organisations to provide elements of our services on our behalf. We have contracts in place with these organisations which means that they cannot do anything with your personal information unless we have instructed them to do so. They will hold it securely for the purposes we instruct and delete it according to our agreement with them. The main organisations we share your information with are:

  • IT software providers to enable us to collect and process data in fulfilling your query, in fulfilment of our agreement with you (based on your consent) and to develop our IT systems
  • Our telephony provider to enable us to conduct our business using a VoIP system
  • Sub-contractors who undertake website and client marketing service provision.
  • Sub-contractors who maintain our marketing databases and ensure they are accurate and up to date. Our EU data is processed within the EU by carefully chosen partners, Infosource, Bulgaria who have shown that they comply with GDPR regulations and our own high data protection standards.
  • Website and App Analytics, such as Firebase and Google Analytics who provide information on performance, app authentication and Realtime Database to understand usage trends and platform failures. Firebase is a subsidiary of Google LLC based in San Francisco (CA), USA.   • We will not share your information with any third parties for the purpose of marketing services directly to you. Pantheon Macroeconomics does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others.

There may be occasions, such as when information is stored in the secure systems used by Pantheon Macroeconomics Inc, where your information is processed outside of the United Kingdom. Where this is the case appropriate organisational and technical measures and agreements are adopted to ensure the protection of your information.

How long do we store your data?

We keep your data for the minimum period necessary to meet our aims, above. We review our records on an ongoing basis to make sure that we only hold up-to-date, relevant data.

  • We will retain client data for as long as you are a subscriber.
  • We know that many former subscribers will be interested in our products in future roles and when research budgets change and so we retain the minimum data on former clients to allow us to contact them. We review this data regularly and delete it once it is no longer relevant.
  • We retain data on prospective clients for as long as the data is still current and accurate and we have reason to believe, from our communication with them, that they may have an interest in our services either now or in the future. We will review this data on a regular basis and delete any data which is not relevant or accurate after 5 years.
  • Where we have been asked not to contact an individual, we will retain their current contact details indefinitely to ensure we can comply with this request. We review this data periodically to delete any information that has become out of date. We can, of course, delete this data, too, if requested (see your right to erasure, below).

Data Subject Rights

Under EU and UK legislation, if you are in the UK or a country covered by the EU GDPR, you have rights as a Data Subject including:

  • Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
  • Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
  • Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
  • Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not normally required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make an access request, we have one month to respond to you. You may also have the right to make a GDPR compaint to the relevant Supervisory Authority. A list of Supervisory Authorities is available here:

EU-U.S. DPF/ THE UK EXTENSION/ THE SWISS-U.S. DPF:

Pantheon Macroeconomics complies with the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (EU-U.S. DPF), the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Swiss-U.S. DPF) as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce. Pantheon Macroeconomics has certified to the U.S. Department of Commerce that it adheres to the EU-U.S. Date Privacy Framework Principles (EU-U.S. DPF Principles) with regard to the processing of personal data received from the European Union and the United Kingdom in the reliance on the EU-U.S. DPF and the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF. Pantheon Macroeconomics has certified to the U.S Department of Commerce that it adheres to the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework Principles (Swiss-U.S. DPF Principles) with regard to the processing of personal data received from Switzerland in reliance on the Swiss-U.S. DPF. If there is any conflict between the terms in this privacy policy and the DPF Principles and/or the Swiss-U.S. DPF Principles, the Principles shall govern. With respect to personal data received or transferred pursuant to the Data Privacy Frameworks, Pantheon Macroeconomics is subject to the investigatory and enforcement powers of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission.

Pursuant to the DPF Program, EU, UK, Swiss individuals have the right to obtain our confirmation of whether we maintain personal information relating to you in the United States. Upon request, we will provide you with access to the personal information that we hold about you. You may also correct, amend, or delete the personal information we hold about you. An individual who seeks access, or who seeks to correct, amend, or delete inaccurate data transferred to the United States under the DPF, should Direct their query to 

info@pantheonmacro.com. If requested to remove data, we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

 We will provide an individual opt-out-choice, or opt-in for sensitive data, before we share your data with third parties other than our agents, or before we use it for a purpose other than which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized. To request to limit the use and disclosure of your personal information, please submit a written request to info@pantheonmacro.com.

In certain situations, we may be required to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.

Pantheon Macroeconomics's accountabilty for personal data that it receives in the United States under the DPF and subsequently transfers to a third party is described in the DPF principles. In particular, Pantheon Macroeconomics remains responsible and liable under the DPF Principles if third-party agents that it engages to process personal data on its behalf do so in a manner responsible for the event giving rise to the damage.

In compliance with the DPF, Pantheon Macroeconomics commits to resolve DPF Principles-related complaints about your privacy and our collection or use of your personal information. European Union, United Kingdom and Swiss individuals with inquiries or complaints regarding our handling of personal data in reliance on the DPF should first contact Pantheon Macroeconomics at: info@pantheonmacro.com.

Pantheon Macroeconomics has further committed to refer unresolved DPF Principles-related complaints to a U.S.-based independent dispute resolution mechanism, BBB NATIONAL PROGRAMS. If you do not receive timely acknowledgment of your complaint, or if your complaint is not satisfactorily addressed by us, please visit www.bbbprograms.org/dpf-complaints for more information and to file a complaint. This service is provided free of charge to you.

If your DPF complaint cannot be resolved through the above channels, under certain conditions, you may invoke binding arbitration for some residual claims not resolved by other redress mechanisms.
